a couple of weeks ago, Iman was scheduled to present some stuff about himself to his class as part of his Social Studies curriculum..... which was to relate and order events that happen in the past, present & future in relation to his own life......It was also a project for parents & children to work on together( we did the project at home and then brought it to school to present to the class )....parents needed to be there too to help with the child's presentation...
We helped Iman to make "A BOOK ABOUT ME" to illustrate things about his life - drawings, words, photos were included. So on the day of Iman's presentation, Mama read the book to the class and Iman helped to answer questions from his classmates...... the most fun part of the presentation was when the kiddies started asking silly yet cute yet amusing questions confidently and to find out that our boy could actually answer all those questions without haste....
Here are some photos of Iman ( from age 2 - 6 mths)... luckily we still have several in our pc as we thought that there's none left we could use for Iman's project ....
As Iman just turned 5 last month, this project is a trip down memory lane....looking all these old photos of him & ourselves is just like revisiting our past ......could fondly recall the things we used to do, the way we loved him, the mixed feelings we had when trying so hard to settle into our new roles ...( i think i cried almost as much as he did when nothing seemed so simple and so certain for the first few days).........surviving the past 5 years as papa & mama brought new heights of emotion..... it was fun & exciting but anxiety provoking too..... after making the trip twice , we realize how true it is that the good things in life (esp. children) dont come easily but they are most worth the effort
SOMEthing ABOUT ME by IMAN
My full name is Muhammad Danish Iman .
My name is special because it means faith & wise.
My mom & Dad were born and grew up in Malaysia
They met in England when they were studying there (though they've known each other since high school  ) and were married on January 11th 2000.
Ten months later, they got me on October 24th 2000 ( the same year they were married ). They were really glad I was present on their 1st wedding anniversary

Look at me, I didnt look sick at all.....these pictures were taken when I was at DSH ( being hospitalised for tummy ache )
 
I really loved my walker(notice how cheerful I was)......it helped me to scoot along the floor easily but my mom & dad didn't let me use it often.....as they said it is one of the most dangerous inventions made for babies

look who have just tied the knot.......Iman & Ihsan's aunt ( Cik Syahida) and Pakcik Sabri ?Uncle Sabri ? ( still unsure of how he likes to be called) were married on Saturday in a lovely traditional ceremony at Mak Tok & Tok Ba's home in Alor Setaq.....here are some wedding photos taken from auntie Mimie's fp ....tq auntie mimie & uncle Man for capturing these beautiful moments

It Was.....

|
another open house hosted by the undergrads......they served good food (the same raya dishes).....like all other adults there, mama & papa spent the fine evening eating and chatting....the boys, they didn't eat at all....not even a drink..... Iman had much more fun playing blocks with his friends while Ihsan busied himself by exploring the house to pass the time(acting as the AJK kebersihan & kekemasan, it was the same open-and-shut case - he checked out anything that has a door handle or low enough for him to reach)......
apart from that, everything else was great....what matters is that the kiddies had a good time and so did we

TO Ameer & family AND Aia, Ayin & family, we would like to say thank you so much for the raya cards......a couple of days after Raya, we received a raya card from Ameer & family.....2 days ago we got another 2 raya cards from M'sia.....one from Aia & Ayin....another one from KC & hubby.....there is also a photo of Ayin & Aia.....they're so so cute( Iman pon kata cute).....card from Kc & hubby siap ada lagu raya....Iman & Ihsan mmg suka sangat2.....berebut2 nak tekan butang lagu tu ...Ihsan esp....tiap2 hari mesti dok dengaq lagu tu....

Sambutan Raya ( Malaysians & Indonesians)

this time we celebrated it with Papa  .....it was the 3rd raya......Malaysians & Indonesians gathered at the community center to celebrate Eid together...we didn't have that big of a celebration though ...i would say like 25 people attended.....everyone brought a dish to pass......Mama made a bunch of food - rendang daging, kuah kacang & nasi impit......the kids received some goodies as well as duit raya ( a dollar each) ...and everything worked just fine
as the weather was so good ( selepas makan) .. it was just the best time to get out and enjoy the colors of autumn leaves at the park nearby ......usually by this time, a majority of trees have shed their leaves.....but we are lucky this time.....we are experiencing a later season.......some trees are just beginning to turn.....it is so beautiful to see the bright reds & purples in leaves......the oranges...the yellows.....( match pulak dgn baju raya iman & ihsan - dark red & brown .....pandai Mak Tok pilih.....thank you Mak Tok & Tok Ba )

the first Open House
|
|
we went to the first open house ......the hosts were the undergraduates......they prepared all the dishes themselves......nasi impit, kuah kacang, rendang, lodeh, bihun goreng, mee goreng, sambal ikan bilis, nasi and kuih raya too..........all in all, they were pretty good and yummy (semuanya lelaki yg masak ...mama was quite impressed )
....not so many pictures taken for we didn't stay there long( mama takut nak drive malam2 kalau lambat sgt since Papa tak ada )...anyways both Iman & Ihsan had fun there meeting other Malaysian kids and playing with abang2 undergrads
