Ihsan turns 2

On this day, two years ago
....I was born at 7.29 pm.
the 1st year
......I was a beautiful, happy baby. My Mama & Papa practice attachment parenting...exclusive breastfeeding until 8 months, then formula & breast milk up to 12 months , co-sleeping....I was fascinated by my wonderful brother, Iman and by everything that is his ..... I'm really a lucky little guy!
the 2nd year
.......I am a big, beautiful, healthy, happy little boy now

at 23 mths

My, how time flies......today when Mama asked him "What's your name ?" he answered "Itha" (still couldnt pronounce his own name Ihsan)....how old are you?.....he responded "two"  ...then Mama asked him again "aren't u a cute little guy?".....and he said "Kiot, Yeth (which is actually 'yes')...quite cute eh . .....and when did that happen???.........I think I forget what a big boy he is now .....
Basically, he's like his old self...high energy, running around the house , getting into everything...... he is busting out with new words and jabbering all the time ..... He has had a HUGE developmental leap the past few weeks, saying 2 and 3 word sentences...... i guess he has been having a humongous brain growth spurt......His language is just unbelievable compared to even a month ago..... I can't get over how much he's learning.....he just talks constantly (his gibberish has become more sophisticated ....cuba2 ikut intonations adult speech)........ his head is just exploding with all the new language he's saying.
 
Some of his toddler vocabulary:
juice - 'joey'
chicken - 'chicky'
fish - 'pish'
scared - 'cared"
horse -'hozy' (he simply adds 'ie' or 'y' sound at the end of every word esp. when he names animals)
nugget -' naga'
Iman - 'Ima'
soup - 'sop'
and some of His favorite things to say;
"yaya Amo" (he actually sings when he says this.....the Elmo song)
"peach" ( means 'please'.....to ask for what he wants .. )
"hey, it's mine" ......"my bok"....."my toy" ( has become very assertive about what is his and what he wants to do)
"Nnope.....i'm mad" ( and when he's mad.....he really, really likes to make frowning faces )
"I'm sad (likes to stick out his lips)
"no more tv" ( and shakes his finger at us)
"I'm cared" or "it's cayee " ( 'I'm scared'......'it's scary'.... he has developed a fear of monster or hantu (belajaq from his abg definitely) ...and whenever he's in the room where there's no light on...he points & says "ark, I'm cared" or sometimes he says "cayee " )
"gowie out" (means he wants to go out .....he would bring his nicer clothes and ask us to help him get dressed before going out)
"get drech ( get dressed)
" sowi Mama or sowi Papa or sowi Ima " - ( to apologize for sth that he does )
"is bad" - (which means 'its bad' - when he/ abg Iman does something that he knows isnt acceptable although I prefer to label behaviors as 'nice' or 'isn't nice' )
"it hot" - meaning 'it hurts'
"it stuck" - is for 'it got stuck' ....

They have been counting their days in school.....and on the 100th day of school, they had a little celebration in class....... Mama volunteered to help with the celebration.....it was a fun filled day ...the kids had the opportunity to do activities related to this event like writing a short essay "If I had $100" , eating snack on 100 day placemat, putting 100 piece puzzle together , doing 100 exercises & sharing with others their collections of 100 items ....

Playground pleaseeeeeeee.......

Iman had been wanting to go to the playground badly( never got tired asking)....and it seems like nothing worked to divert his attention from going outside to play in the cold ......after giving him all kinds of excuses (including the stupid ones) for almost a week , Mama finally decided to put us both on the same page ....Mama took both the boys to the playground and let them play as long as they wish ......without a countdown .....and so they were excited... ..... but after 15 to 20 mins later , when Mama asked Iman "Are u ready to go home ?"....he quickly answered "yes" (without pleading for extra time)....and no other sweet pleas came out of his mouth .....
apart from the unexpected response I got from him, I was unbeliavably happy that his little brother didnt throw a fit or something when we were leaving the playground (like he regularly does bila nak tinggai playground ) .....there was no more struggle to carry him away for he voluntarily threw his arms out wanting to be lifted ..... I figure the only reason for this is that they couldn't stand the cold one bit and must've admitted that playing out there was no longer fun ....
when this happened, I then realize that sometimes it works when I let them experience the natural consequences of their actions ( kdg2 tu tak larat nak layan asyik dok tanya beribu kali tak jemu2 ) ......but the thing is they don't learn that one day , they learn it over years

beware.....dinosaur disease

they were so engrossed in watching dinosaur documentary on tv that they were completely unaware of us studying them intently
